Raspadori leaves Italy camp, out for France and Turkey

Giacomo Raspadori is leaving the national team camp. The Atalanta forward came off at half-time of Italy's 4-1 win over Turkey in Bursa with a physical issue, and sat out completely as the squad resumed training in Coverciano, while his teammates who had featured worked through pool recovery and light sessions. Scans carried out in the last few hours confirmed he won't be available for Italy's next two Nations League fixtures: the trip to Paris against France on Friday 2 October, and the return leg with Turkey on 5 October in Bologna.

Raspadori will head back to Bergamo to rejoin Atalanta, who now need to run their own assessments to pin down the exact nature of the problem and a recovery timeline, both still unknown. Anyone with him in a fantacalcio squad should stay cautious until the club gives clearer guidance: there's no confirmation yet on how many league rounds he risks missing, only the certainty that he's out for the national team.

The loss comes at a time when Mancini is already missing other attacking options, Zaniolo among them, and it weighs on his choices for the trip to Saint-Denis. In the likely lineup against France, according to reports out of the camp, Pio Esposito could give way to Moise Kean as the central striker, while the battle for the other two forward spots among Mancini's younger call-ups this window remains wide open.

For fantacalcio the number that matters most is the club-level one: Raspadori arrives off a strong start to the season with Atalanta, which is why his price had already climbed a point from an opening 14 as early as matchday one, within the 11-20 band where a high rating carries a full extra point. Any lay-off, even a short one, would cost minutes to a forward who was establishing himself as a credible option in Atalanta's attack.

Anyone starting him should watch the next few days closely, waiting on the results of the Zingonia assessments before deciding whether to rely on him for the league restart. Should the absence run long, Atalanta do have strong alternatives in the same role: ahead of Raspadori in the price rankings sit Gianluca Scamacca (22) and Charles De Ketelaere (18), with Petar Krstović (17) rounding out the attacking options available.

The picture stays provisional until the new tests come back: no source, for now, says how many league matches the forward could miss, so it's too early to settle on a definitive replacement plan.
