Ghedjemis locks down his future at Frosinone: contract extended to 2030

Frosinone have made official the contract extension of Farès Ghedjemis: the club's statement points to a new deal running until 30 June 2030, as reported by ANSA, Corriere dello Sport and Calciomercato.com, all quoting the club's own words. That closes a transfer saga that followed the 2002-born forward through the whole summer.

According to ANSA, Celtic, Rangers, Monaco and Besiktas had all been chasing him, but Frosinone held firm against the foreign interest, helped by the arrival of new backers from the American fund Clara Vista, which strengthened the club's finances. The road to the signature was not straightforward: the French-Algerian hesitated for a while, to the point of being left out of the squad for the first two league rounds, before returning to the fold and agreeing to the extension.

The new contract locks down one of the key figures behind last season's promotion to Serie A: 38 appearances, 15 goals and 3 assists, numbers that also earned him a call-up with Algeria for the North American World Cup. Discovered in the French third tier by sporting director Guido Angelozzi and signed by Frosinone in January 2024, Ghedjemis has fully come into his own under coach Massimiliano Alvini.

For anyone who owns him in a fantacalcio squad, the renewal is more a guarantee of continuity than a hint about future form. In our own price list Ghedjemis is valued at 9 as a forward, in the 1-10 price band, where a high match rating earns an extra two-point bonus: a band designed to reward owners who bet on cheap names capable of producing an above-average display. In the same department Frosinone pay more for both Kvernadze (12) and Raimondo (12), while Bobček sits at 8: Ghedjemis, who scored more than anyone else at the club last season, starts out as the cheapest regular starter in the attack, a name worth watching for anyone building a squad on a tight budget.

The club can now negotiate from a position of strength if another side comes knocking: the official statement frames him as a fixture in Frosinone's long-term project, which in recent weeks has already locked down goalkeeper Palmisani and defender Bracaglia on the same kind of deal. For anyone who picked him up at auction, it is confirmation that the starting spot up front, for now, remains his.

It remains to be seen how the averted exit will affect his playing time in the coming rounds, after the two opening benchings tied to the transfer uncertainty. But with the contract signed and Alvini's trust confirmed, whoever chose him for their squad can afford to wait for the next starting chance without fearing a January departure.
